WHAT IS THE MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION OF NEW JERSEY?

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. With the help of generous donors and more than 300 local volunteers, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey granted 471 wishes last year. Founded and chartered in 1983 under the auspices of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, Phoenix, Arizona, the New Jersey chapter serves the entire state of New Jersey. Through the granting of wishes it is our unique opportunity to return into the lives of seriously-ill children the hope, strength and joy that their illnesses have taken away. Though the true impact of a wish cannot be measured in dollars, we could not fulfill our mission without the generous support of people like you. A wish gives children a chance to forget treatments and hospital stays as they plan their unique wish, anticipate it, experience it to the fullest and then relive it through happy memories that will sustain them and their families through the days ahead.

WHAT IS THE WALK FOR WISHES?

Powered by wish families, volunteers, donors and friends of the Foundation, this wonderful fundraising event, taking place in three locations across the Garden State, generates vital funds for Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey and celebrates the close to 7,000 wishes that have been granted here in NJ since 1983. Together we can make a difference for children with life-threatening medical conditions by sharing the power of a wish.®

IS THERE A FEE TO PARTICIPATE?

There is no fee to walk but, participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of $125. There is a fee to participate in the 5K Run in Liberty State Park. Please see 5K Info

CAN I START A TEAM WITH 2 PEOPLE?

Of course you can!! There is no minimum for team sizes, teams range from 2 – 200 people!

SHOULD I REGISTER MY KIDS?

Yes, please register everyone who will be attending the Walk for Wishes. Each participant must sign the waiver by clicking I agree when you register online.

WHAT IS THE CUT-OFF TO REGISTER OR JOIN A TEAM?

You can register online up until 2 days before the event. Please have everyone register as early as possible to give us an accurate head count for the event. Registration is also available on site the day of the event for anyone who wants to join you last minute.

WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE ACCESS TO A COMPUTER? HOW DO I REGISTER?

Contact the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of New Jersey office and we will send you a registration form by mail.
